Congleton

After bacon banjo's we set off in a windy morning, the forecast was for a dry day as the heavens had emptied during the night. We pass through gentle rolling hills to the right and a deep valley to the left. Bungalows line the right bank on the approach to Congleton with their neatly clipped gardens in spring flower.

We pass a couple of Roving bridges designed so the tow rope didn't require unhitching while the horse changed towpath sides.

We moor in town near Morris Bridge (76) to walk down the hill to Morrisons for supplies, oat cakes are bought from a deli for lunch, Sue bought bait from the local tackle shop and after a quick cuppa back at the boat, we were on our way to Bosley Lock flight.
